Beginning in 1988 researchers discovered something amazing, a system within our bodies which responds to cannabis. Dubbed the Endocannabinoid system, this complex system is found throughout our entire bodies. Receptors have been found in our brains, spinal cord, spleen, urinary tracts, and even white blood cells. THC and CBD act as keys which unlock these receptors, known as CB1 and CB2. While being a complicated system which is still shunned by medical bias, there is research out there which links this system with things like metabolism, pain, inflammation, bone growth, and much more. We are excited to see what further research will teach us about this mysterious system.
